Logo for Riversearch, global rafting hub
Del Futuro is web agency I love to work with. This design plays on subliminal futuristic feeling through the choice of the font and a small customization at the end of the type.
Logo done for online game myfrog.ca. Unfortunately logo wasn't used in it's entirety in a final product.
Project Earth was envisioned as an Canada based environmental attraction and this logo was created for the concept pitch. It a set of repeating abstracted shapes in a natural fractal progression of golden section. At the same time there is a strong gesture of hugging, communicating conservation.
Building houses and buildings is what Malaga based construction company does. Slabserif is a great kind of type to depict structure, stability and cleanness, as well as great base for a slight customizaton.
London Xplores is another concept, this time for a traveling attraction. Logo is based around the letter X (x marks the spot) and it plays with clean sans of London Subway and the classic serif font in X's negative space, creating strong recognition of the British flag.
Here are just a few of logo designs that I have developed over the years. Some of them have been in use in public, some for internal or pitch purposes.
Made in Canada segment of the Closing Ceremony featured Canadian ephemera, souvenirs, symbols but BIG... and loud. Yes, these are all "beloved" Canadian stereotypes in Vegas/Monty Python kind of fusion. I did the design, directing (with choreography team) and a part of animation of the projected media for this segment that featured Michael Buble as star performer. Most of the animation is done by Simon Piniel, additional artwork from Cyril Meusy, Elli Bunton and Kevin McAllister.
This is an act that, although well designed, directed and choreographed, didn't get into the Vancouver Olympics Opening Ceremony. It is based on Gilles Vigneault's song Mon Pays. The look of the motion graphics for the piece is inspired by Quebec painters Lemeiux, Barbeau, Borduas as well as NFB animators McLaren, Larkin, Leaf, Bochner etc. Here are the storyboards for the song (design frames at the same time) that were supposed to be projected on the central Field of Play.
I am glad I was given a chance to design the Vancouver 2010 Opening Ceremony Program Book. The book is printed in black only with about a dozen spreads in black and silver. The motifs of each spread are graphically abstracted versions of any given segments, inspired by either the mood or the story of the segment itself, as well as the quotes, narrated during the show by Donald Sutherland. Two distinct graphical look serve, first, Protocol part (shallow relief, impasto painting with white/grey paint on white canvas) and second Cultural part of the show (futuristic mystical 3D strokes printed
Package concept for upscale spring water. Rendered in Photoshop. First Nations' designs are quick and free interpretation of West Coast First Nations art, that was eventually supposed to be replaced with more authentic designs. Unfortunately, this is a non realized project so the designs are not completed.
